*blushes with being so ignorant about something which is obviously important*
Your shoes sound great, and why not get them for that reason.
We dont have a very large selection of Vans here, there are only about 2 shops in the city that sell them, I love the sound of the kitty skulls ones...but I have no money either so they will have to wait....but I managed to find enough to get a permanent account here just so I could have more user pics...I need life I sometimes think

In the mall by us we have a Vans Pro Shop and also a few shoe stores that sell Vans, I tried to find a picture of the ones I was talking about but wasn't able to, they were a limited edition one that I saw about a year ago. But there is always Vans online if you wanted to order them ever.
My mum is the only one that really knows my love of Converse comes from Doctor Who. Ten has the red ones, whites ones and black ones that he wears for formal occasions (like in this years Christmas special he is on the Titanic and wears a tux so he wears the black ones)
I can sympathize with the lack of money. It's not very fun and this years holidays aren't going to be good because of it. One of my friends actually got me a year membership and extra user pics. I still haven't loaded very many, I just can't decide what to load and then I have a thing for always using different ones with every post.
And what do you mean you need a life. This is a life isn't it :) obsessing over our shows (coughTW,QAF,DWcough) and making friends all over the place on LJ.

I will have a look for the Vans Online store, and see what I can find thank you.
That was nice of your friend to do that for you, and I definetely know what you mean about not knowing which icons to load, I am also having that problem cause I have so many and some are just right for certain posts if you know what I mean, I know the one I have used now if not really fitting to this post but I just made it and love it..lol..
And yes, this is a life, and beats RL most of the time as well, I have found some great friends on LJ and just sorry it took me so long to stop lurking and join it, but now I can't imagine not being here, and it's great to know that everyone here is as obsessed about someone or a show as much as I am, don't know anyone in RL that gets that

There is a TARDIS watch I would love to get off Ebay soon, I saw a few QAF watches I liked but opted to get a custom made Italian Charm bracelet made instead with quotes and pictures from the show, total for the custom one was like 25 bucks and that is great considering if you buy one charm at the mall you're going to spend 15. I actually have 3 total that I have put together from ebay wins. one all QAF and 2 that define me. I really want to get another custom one with TW and DW on it.
And yeah some of the friends I have made here I consider better friends then people I know IRL.

I love yours....I giggled when I read it.
I watched Dr Who when John Barrowman was on it actually, cause I think he is hot as well. I am actually old enough to remember watching the original Dr Who (William Hartwell), showing my age here...lol...
I will watch that clip, thank you for the link.
Your charm bracelet sounds amazing, I would love a QAF one like that, I have a bit of QAF stuff, like a gorgeous Ben/Michael wedding day magnet and of course the QAF book, which Hal actually signed a pic of himself as Michael in it for me, cause I won a t-shirt designing competition for SparksNation New York AIDS Walk this year, I simply treasure it.
I want money.....lol....there is so much I see I want to buy...
And I agree with friends on here as well, it's nice being able to be yourself with your obsessions and people don't think you are weird.

I didn't get to watch any of the original DW (first because I am 26 and also because my brother dislikes English accents for some reason and would have beat me if I started to watch it when he was still home). I did however see a few with Peter Davison (five) I actually recorded the first episode of Torchwood on BBCA and have been hooked on that one since, but then I wanted to know Captain Jacks story so I was only going to watch the DW episodes he was in and started with the Empty Child (the first with him and it was the one set during the blitz with the boy who turned everyone into gas mask people) and after watching that episode I was hooked on DW. It was actually written by Steven Moffat he does the best episodes. I ended up downloading all of TW and DW and watched S1 of TW and S1 2 and 3 of dw in about 2 weeks and have since hooked my mum. :)
I was always a B/J shipper but your stories really made me like M/B, I always liked Ben but Michael used to rub me wrong but now after reading some of your stuff I see him differently :) I think that is one of the signs that you are a great writer that you can turn a Michael disliker into a liker.
I really like the charm bracelets I have. my friend had one and then I saw a QAF charm and had to have it so of course I had to build a bracelet for it to go on and then I found the custom ones and the rest is history :)This is the first one I bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/QUEER-AS-FOLK-Rainbow-Italian-Modular-Charm-9mm_W0QQitemZ370003928581QQihZ024QQcategoryZ43051QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I'm glad you don't dislike Michael as much as you did and thank you so much for your words about my writing. I know there are a lot of Michael haters out there, which I have never really understood. I think he is very strong, considering his husband and son are both positive, I'm sure that would weigh heavily on his mind, even if he didn't show it. I believe all he ever wanted was a home and a family and with Ben and then Hunter he got that.
Sorry I tend to ramble when the discussion turn to them. I just loving getting into Michael's head and feelings, which is strange cause I adore Ben just as much, but seem to connect with Michael more for some reason.
Ohhh...I want that bracelet *looks at credit card balance and shudders*..maybe after Xmas, I have to decide whether to continue with Uni or find a job, money is a major problem at the moment as I said.
I know I'm weird as well don't worry. my kids are telling me that constantly, especially my daughter, having a mother who runs a website like my Ben and Michael one and who writes what I do is not the norm I don't think..lol..but at my age I have decided its all about me now...

I agree Michael is very strong, esp for having to deal with all the problems and emotions that come with having almost your entire family being positive esp with Uncle Vic and all. I used to really like him, but sometime around the time Hunter showed up he started treating Brian badly and Brian is my favorite so of course I instantly went defensive for him against Michael. I personally loathed Dr Dave. Blech. For part of season one I had wanted Brian and Michael to get together because I knew it was what he wanted and I could relate to that and then I also know exactly why he latched on to David like he did. And as much as I adore Brian I relate really well to Teddy. I am totally season 1-4 Teddy, and in a way that scares me a little bit because of everything he went through, other then my post s5 fic with Ann a series of drabbles about Ted was my longest written thing.
And no worries about getting carried away talking about them, I do the same, however I'm three times as bad because not only do I have my QAF obsession rattling around in my head I also have DW and TW. BTW if you ever get a chance you should see TW, it really is good. (Don't tell anyone but since I have the patience of a gnat and no money I downloaded them all..)
I know what you mean about the money issue, I have a job but am not able to go at this time because of my medical issues. I am thinking of saying screw getting better because I need to pay bills. What do you want to go to university for?
And it's cool that you don't worry about what you kids say and let that deter you from writing. My mum didn't get as hooked on QAF as I did, but she did watch it with me and at the end she liked the show. As for what other people think because of my piercings and tattoos I had to forgo caring what others thought (although sometimes I still do and it doesn't help that I have no self-esteem, again s1-4 Teddy here)

I will try and watch Torchwood next time it is on and let you know what I think of it.
I have just finished a semester of Multi-media and have to decide if I can afford to continue, I want to and I want to do a graphic degree as well, I really love being at school, and I hated it as a kid.
Yeah well, I have decided that its time for me, neither of my kids have watched the show except for clips every now and then if they have been here when Ive been watching it, which I do a lot, but usually on PC cause we only have one TV.
My son went to a bar in Tokyo a while ago with a gay friend of his and he said there were huge pictures of all the cast on the walls, he recognised Ben/M from some art I had shown him.
I think everyone has self esteem issues of some sort, but as long as you are happy with who you are, thats all that matters.
Thank you for letting me ramble, and Im glad I only have one obsession.

And I was happy that Brian and Teddy became such good friends and that Brian helped him and trusted him.
I hated school I was always tormented and picked on and sometimes think I would like to go back as who I am now as I think it would be different. I hope you get to finish school esp if it's something you enjoy. How old are your kids? I heard that QAF was big in Japan, that's cool that he recognized them, my brother has never seen the show but could pick out the actors on the show from a lineup because of my babbling and pictures in my journal.
And you can always ramble at me, sometimes I stink at responding and sometimes I have issues staying on track of what I am talking about but I like talking to you, you are nice and not cranky when I talk about DW and TW. :) BTW love that icon. .

My probs with Deb is the way she treated Ben when she found out he was positive and that scene when she was talking to Vic and said she didnt want Michael to end up like him, how could she say that, you could see how much that hurt Vic. I also have probs with the fact she kept Michael from knowing his father. I think she is very self centred and manages to turn everything into about her. I think she treated Brian badly on occasions as well, as well as a lot of the others. We seem to agree on everyone else which is cool. End of rant on Debbie.
I hated school as well, I never fitted in and left the moment I turned 15.
My daughter is 27 and my son turned 26 last week, he teaches English in Japan, hes been there nearly 5 years now, my daughter lives here in Perth, which is one of the reasons we moved here from New Zealand, otherwise we would never see our kids.
Thanks for letting me ramble, I dont mind you rambling about anything, its nice getting to know you and good we seem to be on line at the same time sometimes, its nearly 7pm here and I am usually on all day and half the night, I live on my PC either making art or writing.
